Third Book Now Available

Book 3 Cover

Prayers of a Warrior: Diligence & Faithfulness is my third installment in the Prayers of a Warrior series by Louis Martinez. This devotional poetry book exhorts the reader to maintain excellence in one’s walk with the Lord, particularly as it pertains to challenging moments. All are tempted, for one’s faith must be tested to ensure it is true. If never there was the opportunity to walk away, how can one be sure his walk is genuine? Also, the way we handle those moments of testing can be our best example to others that they may remember well beyond any words we share with them.

As is tradition, I would like to announce this new installment by sharing an original entry of poetry and prayer in the same style as found in the book. Please enjoy!

Numbers 32:17-18

[We] ourselves will go with diligence armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place; and our little ones shall dwell in the strong cities because of the inhabitants of the land. We will not return to our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited each one his inheritance.

Tempting it may be
To stand for but ourselves
When victory we see
Our woes upon the shelves

The foes we faced now gone
Being beaten into dust
The enemy withdrawn
From the triumph of the just

Yet, what about our kin?
Those standing by our side
Shall we help them win?
Lest our brothers be denied

Let us not forget their woes
Our neighbors we doth love
Let us rush to face their foes
For them, and God above

Thank you, Lord of Armies, for how You have benefitted me as one of Your holy warriors. You have trained well my hands for war and my fingers for battle. You have brought me victory in combat whenever it mattered most. Yet, let me not forget those who still have foes to face when mine have fallen. May I not forget those who cannot fight for themselves. May they never be left wanting to rely on me. May I always be ready to answer their call. Make me that faithful man. Amen.
