The Pensive Warrior
One who is pensive loves to write and learn; to create and to grow. A warrior – or more literally translated into English from Biblical Hebrew as “man of war” – is one who practices or engages in combat. Thus, a pensive warrior is one who does both of these things, understanding the importance of both the metaphorical pen and sword.
My name is Louis, an American writer and martial artist. Here on The Pensive Warrior, I share stories, poems, and all other manner of creations meant to inspire people to faith, bravery, and creativity. In all my posts, I focus on what I call “The Three E’s.” Edification, Education, and Exhortation. Whatever your background, I’m sure you’ll find something to enjoy here!
To My Dear Readers
We All Have a Purpose
A wise man once said, “the society that separates its scholars from its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting by fools.” It can often be the case that among skilled writers, there tends to be a lack of strong warriors; and among strong warriors, there can often be a lack of strong communicators.
Do What You Can
Yet we all have the potential to provide something we find lacking in the world. That is part of the beauty of human uniqueness. Also, when we see that opportunity to provide something few others can, I would say it is our duty to do so, lest the world continue on in what it lacks.
Never Stop Improving
Since I first learned how to write, it was one of my favorite things to do alongside combatives training. This has made me an oddball in many circles, but one of the few capable of getting things done in many others. Since I started working, I have constantly been seeking ways to improve myself and serve others.
Always Remember
“Blessed be the Lord my strength, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.”
― Psalm 144:1
“The eternal difference between right and wrong does not fluctuate, it is immutable.”
― Patrick Henry
